Plot
The young girl Melinda (Daisy Tahan) and her friend, Miss Lily LaBouff (Merit Leighton, 8), are told the story of the Frog Prince by a fairy named Tulip (Miley Cyrus, 17) while she makes a dress for Lily. Later that night at the penthouse, Melinda and her father King Star (John Cleese, 70), the King of Disneyland make schnitzel while he tells her how good food brings people together and about his dream of owning his own restaurant. Meanwhile, the Nerdlucks, a group of criminal aliens led by their boss Robert (James Denton, 47), the CEO of Moron Mountain, a failing amusement park, plot to capture the Muppets and make them their newest attractions. Robert believes enslaving the Muppets in this way will bring in more customers and save Moron Mountain from foreclosure.
They arrive in the small town of Americus, Georgia, and since they aren't very intelligent or tall, The Muppets bargain for their freedom by challenging the Nerdlucks to a basketball game. For July twelfth, Kermit the Frog (Steve Whitmire, 50) asks his adoptive father Robert for permission to go to Anaheim, California where the happiest place on Earth is located, but Robert refuses. Melinda (Mae Whitman, 22) is a young waitress living in Disneyland Resort, Anaheim with a passion for the culinary arts. Melinda works at two different diners in order to raise money to buy an old cottage, which she plans to turn into the restaurant her father dreamed about. When King Star, invites Prince Kermit the Frog to his masquerade ball, Lily (Megan Hilty, 29) hires Melinda for catering services. King Star seeks to welcome the recently arrived Prince Kermit as an eligible suitor to his daughter. Melinda is thrilled to finally have enough to purchase and renovate the old cottage into her restaurant.
While the Muppets are in the road trip to Anaheim, the Nerdlucks travel around the USA and steal the talent of Patrick Ewing (Himself, 47), Larry Johnson (Himself, 41), Charles Barkley (Himself, 47), Muggsy Bogues (Himself, 45), and Shawn Bradley (Himself, 38), who are rendered incapable of playing basketball as a result. The Nerdlucks use the stolen talent to transform into gigantic creatures—now called the MonStars—that the Muppets are unable to defeat.
Back at Disneyland, the financially cut-off Prince Kermit, penniless and unskilled, is intent on marrying a wealthy woman rather than learning a trade. He and his valet Bobo the Bear (Bill Barretta, 46) encounter Dark Force (Eddie Izzard, 48), a voodoo witch doctor who convinces the pair that he can improve both their lives. Instead, Dark Force transforms Kermit into a frog and gives Bobo a voodoo charm that transforms his appearance to that of Kermit's when worn. Dark Force intends for Bobo, under the guise of Kermit, to marry Lily in order to gain access to her father's fortune; Bobo will get 40% of it as payment for his help.
At the masquerade ball, Melinda discovers she may lose the cottage to a higher bidder. Melinda then meets Prince Kermit, who, believing her to be a princess because of her costume, asks her to kiss him and break Dark Force's curse. Melinda reluctantly agrees, in exchange for the money needed to outbid the other buyer. However, instead of Prince Kermit turning back into a human, Melinda is turned into a human frog herself. A chase ensues, and Prince Kermit and Melinda escape to the jungle.
Bobo later proposes to Lily, who agrees, but the magic in Dark Force's charm wears off and Bobo reverts to his original form. Another sample of the prince's blood is needed in order to prolong the spell, but Dark Force finds that Bobo foolishly released him. Dark Force turns to the voodoo spirits for help, with the promise that once Bobo marries Lily, he will have total control over Disneyland and will be able to offer the citizens' souls as payment. The voodoo spirits provide shadow demons, who are dispatched to locate Kermit.
To help the Muppets win the game, Kermit abducts Melinda and recruits her. She reluctantly agrees to help after the MonStars squash her into the shape of a ball and bounce her around like one and Robert makes a deal with him, who remains skeptical, to stay in the hotel as their home if they win the Ultimate Game, whereas if they lose, Kermit and the Muppets must leave Disneyland Resort. Kermit and the Muppets decide to do some fun in Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure Park to collect some stuff for the Ultimate Game. Fozzie Bear (Eric Jacobson, 39) offers to lead them around the hotel to find Queen Melody (Julie Andrews, 74), the Queen of Disneyland and Melinda's mother who they believe can undo the curse.
Back at the hotel, Kermit meets Miss Piggy (Eric Jacobson, 39), Pepé the King Prawn (Bill Barretta, 46), and Rizzo the Rat (Steve Whitmire, 50) and join them on the journey. Pepé tells Melinda about his love, Tulip, who is revealed to be the Evening Star. Kermit and the Great Gonzo (Dave Goelz, 63) go to the LaBouff mansion to collect what she needs to play - her basketball gear, barely dodging Lily's bloodhound, Gladys, who has the shorts. Tulip support Melinda, whose team will be called the Muppet Squad. The next morning, the four at last meet Queen Melody and she tells Melinda and Kermit that Kermit must kiss a true princess for them to become human, and that since King Star is King of the Disneyland Parade, Lily is a princess, but only until the clock strokes, when the anniversary is over.
Somewhere around the United States, the sudden inability of five top NBA players to play basketballs captures the attention of the media—and the rest of the NBA—as more and more NBA teams refuse to take the court, fearing the same phenomenon will attack them. The five NBA players themselves go through a series of physical, medical, psychological and spiritual tests to figure out why they have no talent anymore, to no avail. Eventually all NBA stadiums are quarantined and the season is declared officially over until further notice.
The two teams take the court. Despite Melinda's leadership, the MonStars dominate the first half of the game. Fozzie sneaks into the MonStars' locker room and overhears them talking about how they stole the talent from the NBA players, but he is detected despite hiding in a locker and scorched as a result. Fozzie informs the Muppet Squad that the MonStars stole the talent from the NBA players. Kermit motivates the team with a "special drink", and the MonStars' commanding lead is reduced to a significantly smaller margin. During the quarter break, Kermit tells Pepé and Rizzo he loves Melinda and is willing to give up his dreams for her, but before he can tell her directly, he is captured by the shadow demons and brought to Dark Force.
After Pepé and Rizzo tell Melinda that Kermit truly loves her, Melinda goes to the Disneyland Parade only to find "Kermit" marrying Lily. Melinda escapes to be alone, while Pepé and Rizzo are able to help the real Kermit escape and steals the charm. Pepé and Rizzo give the charm to Melinda to hold back Dark Force's minions, but they are wounded by Dark Force. Dark Force then confronts Melinda and transforms her into her dream form. He then offers to make her restaurant dream come true in exchange for the charm, but Melinda refuses and attempts to destroy the talisman, realizing that even if she does not have what she wants, she still has what she needs. Dark Force manages to catch it before it breaks and turns Melinda back into her basketball form, unwittingly giving her the opportunity to grab the talisman with his tongue and destroy it. The angered voodoo spirits appear and, using Dark Force himself as payment for his debts, drag him to the voodoo version of Hell.
While Bobo is arrested, Melinda and Kermit reveal their love to each other. Lily, after listening to their explanation of the situation, agrees to kiss Kermit so he and Melinda can be together. The clock strikes before she can kiss him, but the two decide he is content to live together as frog. Seeing Robert angry that the MonStars did not steal Melinda's talent, Melinda takes the chance to raise the stakes. If the Muppet Squad wins, the MonStars must give the NBA players their talent back, but if they lose, then Robert is to spare the Muppets in exchange for Melinda. She readily accepts it and Kermit tries to talk her out of it, all the while being aware of what it means if Melinda is subjected to humiliation on Moron Mountain for all time. The MonStars begin playing even dirtier than before at the Muppet Squad. The Muppets are injured, one by one, until only Melinda, Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo are left, leaving them short one player. Reluctantly, Melinda puts Fozzie in the game, and though he is quickly taken out of action, the MonStars' lead is now down to one. Masterson the Rat (Matt Vogel, 39), who is the referee, tells them that if there is no fifth player, the team will forfeit the game. At the last second, Tulip appears in the stadium and joins the team, breaking the fourth wall along the way.
With only seconds left, Tulip pulls some clever maneuvering and gets the ball to Melinda. Extending her arm to superhuman lengths (since the laws of physics work differently with the Muppets in Disneyland), Melinda makes the basket and wins the game. Although Tulip has always dreamed of being an NBA player, and Melinda is impressed with her skills, Tulip decides to retire from basketball forever. Melinda then helps the MonStars realize that they're bigger than Robert, who confronts them for losing. Fed up with their abusive boss, the MonStars tie him up to a rocket and send him to the moon. At Melinda's request, they reluctantly return the stolen talent to the other players by transferring them to a basketball, which is how they stored the stolen talent earlier in the film. This reverts the MonStars back to the tiny Nerdlucks. Refusing to return to Moron Mountain, the Nerdlucks decide to stay with the Muppets, who only agree if the Nerdlucks can prove themselves to be 'Muppetational', which they arguably complete on the spot.
Afterwards, Tulip and Melinda meet Barkley, Ewing, Bogues, Johnson, and Bradley give the stolen talent back to the NBA players, who immediately regain their lost skills. Later, Kermit and Melinda are married by Queen Melody; because Melinda has married a frog prince, she has become a princess, and their kiss breaks the spell. They share a kiss again. They had a second wedding at the Downtown Disney Cathedral. Months later, Kermit and Melinda have transformed the cottage into the long awaited restaurant, called Melinda's Palace, after winning the bid with the help of the Muppets and the Nerdlucks. Kermit and Melinda celebrate their opening with their family and friends while they sing "When Will My Life Begin?".

Accompanied Short (Roller Coaster Rabbit)
Roller Coaster Rabbit is a 1990 American animated slapstick comedy short film, produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1990. The short features Roger Rabbit, the animated protagonist from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, being enlisted the task of caring for Baby Herman while his mother is absent, resulting in a plot defined by slapstick humor and visual gags. The short concludes with a sequence involving live action and animation, where the characters interact with human beings, akin to the 1988 film.
Plot
Roger Rabbit (Charles Fleischer, 39, Baby Herman (April Winchell, 30 and Lou Hirsch, 35) and Mrs. Herman (April Winchell, 30) are at the local county fair. Baby Herman loses his red balloon and Roger goes to get him a new one. Before he returns, however, Baby Herman sees another red balloon at a dart game and goes to try to get it. When Roger comes back to give Baby his balloon, he finds that he is gone, and the chase begins. Firstly Baby Herman finds himself following the balloon into a field homed to a grazing bull (Frank Welker, 44). Roger soon follows the youngster, and Roger falls in bull dung Baby Herman walks through directly underneath the bull, he notices a round balloon-like object and grasps it unknown to him that it was in fact the bull's scrotum. The grazing creature snaps, Roger picks up Baby Herman but just happens to be looking the bull in the eyes. The animal hurls Roger and baby into the air sending him flying out of the field and the two land crashing into a roller coaster carriage which is traveling slowly up.
The next stage of this short the carriage continues to climb a tall hill in the track. The two reach the top of the drop which is exaggerated to reach beyond the clouds and into space. Roger looks down and sees the world. Moments later the carriage drops down thousands of meters. The speed of the drop is maintained throughout the remainder of the chase. After a few twist and turns (in the track) a shot of Jessica Rabbit (Kathleen Turner, 35) appears where she is tied down to the tracks, unable to move. She calls out to be saved before Roger and Baby Herman's carriage crushes her. As the cart draws near, it topples over and fortunately bounces over Jessica avoiding her completely. The camera 'moves' along and beside her appears Droopy (Corey Burton, 34) for a quick one-liner. The story then continues. Roger grasping onto Baby Herman, tumbling and losing their carriage leaving Roger sliding along the tracks with his feet, gradually gaining friction causing his feet to catch fire. The tracks run into a dark tunnel and then stumbles across a 'wrong way sign'. Finally Herman and Roger crash through the sign and into a real-life filming studio. A direct reference to the reality/cartoon crossover in the feature film.

Production
Roller Coaster Rabbit (along with Trail Mix-Up) was produced at the satellite studio located at Disney-MGM Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Rob Minkoff returned to direct the second short in the series. It was the first Disney animated short film to receive a PG rating from the MPAA, the next one would be three shorts; Monsters University's Party Central, Secret of the Wings' Flying Fairy Fest, and Give a Day. Get a Disney Day. 2's Disco Plaza.
Spielberg wanted the short to appear with Arachnophobia, Hollywood Pictures's first feature and a co-production between Disney and Amblin. However, CEO Michael Eisner opted to release the short with the U.S. theatrical release of Touchstone Pictures' Dick Tracy and Walt Disney Animation Studios' Give a Day. Get a Disney Day., in hopes that the short would increase awareness to the film. Spielberg, who controlled a 50% ownership stake in the character, decided to cancel Hare in My Soup, the fourth short that had entered production.
